For your reading pleasure... I live my life as a Stunt-boy Hi, my name is Will and for my book review I did “My Life As A Stunt-boy” by Janet Tashjian. The book is about a stunt boy whose name is Derek. He has a friend named Matt and another friend named Carly that help him in the book. The book also has cartoons drawn on the side of the pages with definitions from words in the story. This is an adventure book, because Derek does stunts on a movie set where he met Tanya Billings, a movie-star . He and his friend try to rescue his pet monkey, who was kidnapped mysteriously. The funniest part is when Derek met Tanya Billings, a movie-star. Derek would say funny stuff like “my name is doc”. and when his pet monkey who Derek has to change diapers for swallows a toy horse. I would recommend this for people who like adventure books and comedy books. You can find this book at your local library. Image provided by Barnesandnoble.com Please enjoy! The Neighbor from Outer Space By Maureen George Brayden 5\4\12 The neighbor from outer space is a good book if you like mysteries. You should read this because it is a fantastic book. The book is about 3 kids that are trying to figure out if an alien is on their street. The kid’s names are Katie, Chrissy, Maddie, and Brian. My opinion is the middle is the best. I would rate it 9\10. Some of the best parts are when they set a trap. They went in the old man’s home and got in trouble. If you want to see what happened at the end you can get this book at www. Scholastic.com. One more thing, this book has a lot of action. Does my book sound interesting? Please comment. Picture provided by books.google.com Please enjoy this book review by Vincent. The Castle in the Attic Hi my name is Vincent and I’m going to tell you about a book called The Castle in the Attic by Elizabeth Winthrop. It is about a boy named William and his nanny. The problem is that Mrs. Phillips(the nanny)is leaving. About a week before Mrs. Phillips left she gave William a castle with a silver knight. She taught William how to use the castle too. When Mrs. Phillips left William played and then went down stairs for dinner. The next day William went to the attic and picked up the knight and the knight moved! William dropped the knight and stepped back. After that they became friends. William learned the knights name was Sir Simon. The next day Sir Simon noticed he was missing something. Sir Simon was missing his magic coin that can make stuff super small. But that’s not the big problem the problem is Mrs.Phillips was going to leave the next day! William had a plan to make Mrs.Phillips stay. His plan was to shrink Mrs. Phillips with the coin and she could live with Sir Simon. And he did it but then Mrs. Phillips wouldn’t talk to William. He felt bad so he went down with Mrs. Phillips. Sir Simon taught William how to fight like a night. If you want to know what happens next go to your local book store and buy this book. The book was about a boy named Stanly. Stanly went to court because the police thought that he stole some shoes because they were on his feet. He had a choice either to go to jail or go to this juvenile Camp named Camp Green Lake. Their punishment was to dig hole every day. Their holes had to be 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. At Camp green there isn’t any water there so they had to bring canteens for water. Also at Camp green lake there was no lake that’s why they had to bring canteens. They gave people nicknames one guys name was armpit the others were Squid, Xray, and Zig. They had a boss named Mr. Sir. Mr. Sir was mean to Stanly. This book has 50 chapters but they’re short. You can get the book at the main library. I recommend this book for people who have ever gotten blamed for something they didn’t do. P.S. It’s really good. Please enjoy this book review by our guest blogger, Raquel. The Doll People Hi, I’m Raquel and I read The Doll People by Ann M. Martin. This book is about two dolls named Annabelle and Tiffney. Annabelle and Tiffney are working together to find Annabelle’s aunt! I think you should read this book because it has fantastic pictures, danger, action and much, much more! You can buy this book at Barnes and Noble. Annabelle is porcelain and Tiffney is plastic so Annabelle has to be more careful when she is going down and up the stairs! The thing it is hard to be a doll because humans can’t see you move, you could go into doll state, or even worse permanent doll state! So, you have to be real careful around humans! The thing that all the dolls have to look out for are cats, dog, and other pets that roam the house! I think being a doll would be hard but fun! The thing is that you can’t roam in the day. So you can’t see what humans do in the day (unless they're not home). The funny thing is that dolls are a lot like humans they fight, eat, sleep, and explore! I wonder what its like to be a doll? It has 19 chapters and 256 pages. So read it, you will enjoy it I promise! Picture provided by Barnes and Noble.com |
